Jet Lag

What does the world look like through plain, lazy days? Well, I’m not sure. My calendar is still full and I am still going.  Sure, I did have a few down days here and there. For someone with three grown kids, I think I am busier now than I’ve been in years.  My brain has finally shifted gears from having wedding reception nightmares to the next exciting thing on my plate, the Launch of Book 2, Between Two Fires.  I am still a ways out and would love to have it out by Christmas, but not sure if that’s feasible.

You are gonna think I’m silly but that’s never stopped us from visiting before.  I needed to chill for a couple days and I’d decided it was time to get going on my novel again. I began reading my first book, Long Journey Home, which was released in March of this year. Well, yeah, how silly is that right.  I wrote the thing. I’d mentally packed away all the thoughts and details for my characters that feel like family to me.  I picked up the book and read the whole thing, yep, I didn’t skim any scenes.  I read it cover to cover in just two days.

What did I think?  I’m still in shock that I wrote a book.  I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down.  I have been told it’s an easy read with plain English. I hope that’s a credit and not a hindrance.  Another person told me, it was like stepping back into time for her. That definitely sounds like a complement. But, me, I had forgotten many things that I’d written about and enjoyed the journey to the end.  It wasn’t so long at all and I made it right here at home.  🙂  hee hee… a little hidden humor.

We, the Leon County Writers Anonymous group, have an event coming up at the Expo Center in Buffalo this Saturday, October 6th.  We will have a booth together with our books available and a pen for autographs for sure! This will be a great kick-off start to get me going again.  It’s been far too long- since I visited my characters. If you are local, I sure hope you’ll stop by our booth and say HI! I look forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones!

When will I rest you say?  … I guess I’ll have to rest when I’m dead.

My book is available online @ Amazon and also at the Elmer P. and Jewel Ward Memorial Library in Centerville, TX.

Many Blessings,
